Opportunity Finance is one of the most innovative and effective examples of social enterprise.
Its mission: to provide capital and financial services that benefit low-income and low-wealth people—building homes, schools, small businesses, and community facilities. Creating jobs. Opening new markets. And helping people join the economic mainstream. The Opportunity Finance industry includes more than 700 mission-driven financial Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) working across the United States.
In January 2006 we re-branded and changed our name from National Community Capital Association to Opportunity Finance Network in order to:
Preserve our core purpose, who we serve, our 20-year history, and track record of success.
Create a new “category” to make communications more effective and efficient with current and new audiences.
Reposition policy work (from defensive to offensive).
Save time and money.
We currently build brand awareness for opportunity finance through ongoing public relations, the Web, events, industry speeches, publications, and more.
